David Troutman
“Buffalo’s St. Nick”
Kenmore, New York
1959 – Current
International Santa Claus Hall of Fame – December 2022
David Troutman accepted the duties of portraying Santa Claus at a home party for family members 38 years ago in the Buffalo, New York area.
Portraying Santa for all the right reasons, David is an extremely humble Santa, manifesting his magic in a low-profile fashion, astonishing children and adults alike with his traditional persona.
Just as St. Nicholas himself, Troutman cloaks himself in mysteriousness; as he regularly visits charitable organizations, churches, and day cares while keeping the spirit of the tradition alive. He also makes many family holiday memories during the season by visiting families in around the area, photography studios, and small businesses.
An anonymous gift giver, just as Saint Nicholas was, David was accepted in the Knights of Saint Nicholas in 2020 and lives the motto of the group, fidelity, charity, and service with everything he does.
Troutman keeps his Santa work private and does not seek public or media coverage. That is not important to him. What is important is that all Santa endeavors big or small are important.
