Joe Monaco
“Pikes Peak’s Santa”
Colorado Springs, Colorado
1953 – Current
International Santa Claus Hall of Fame – December 2025
Self-described as a Jolly Old Elf or J.O.E, Joe Monaco is second to none in the size of his generous heart. A career spanning almost 4 decades has honed a unique, charitable, and original body of work and contribution. Progressing from corporate and private appearances, Joe became a stalwart in Colorado mall Santa work. His passion to take care of families and all children, especially those unique needs, propelled him beyond the chair.
Creating a magical workshop with toys to enjoy, ride and build are but a few of the gifts Joe delivers. From his special Santa Bus to his summer Santa home, Joe can build and repair anything. He is a workshop guy. Toy building is but a fraction of his contribution.
He builds communities, homes for Habitat for Humanity, and helps to rebuild lives. He has founded Sober Living and Addiction Recovery Homes. People with special needs benefit greatly from the volume of fundraising he finds the time and energy to do. His activities, generosity, knowledge, and giving back to the Santa collective are a foundation of this Jolly Old Elf. Teaching, mentoring, supporting and even helping Santas find work drives his ambition. Thousands of people have been enriched and entertained by Joe. He deeply wants everyone to have fun, feel important and know they are loved
